How E-Print works

File to Print

Desktop publishing software can now write directly to the E-Print. There is no need to create film or printing plates or expensive chemical proofs. The proof is made by printing the job on the correct stock. Our standard prep fee includes 2 press proofs. No variation occurs on the final print run. The E-Print accepts standard Postscript or PDF data. Files can be sent as documents in any of the leading layout packages on disk or over the internet via email or FTP.

How it works

click on image to see enlarged pictureFiles are sent to the E-Print's main processor via our ethernet LAN. They are converted to E-Print format and then printed via the laser imaging head, directly onto the photo imaging plate (PIP). The plate is developed on the fly using an electrophotographic process and the ink is then transferred to a special blanket. The blanket transfers 100% of the ink to the sheet which is fed from the paper input tray.

The sheet is deposited in the duplex buffer if required and then immediately retrieved and the second side printed.

The final sheet is then sent to the output tray. All unused ink is returned to the E-Print for reuse, benefiting the environment.
